Fieldwork

Vassilis Spyropoulos and I are investigating several dialects spoken in the Dodecanese area such as Symi, Rhodes and Karpathos Greek, as well as varieties of Greek that have been in long-term contact with Turkish, such as Ofitika Pontic. We are particularly interested in recording spontaneous speech data from these varieties and studying various syntactic and phonological aspects of their grammar. More specifically, our focus of investigation is on weak pronominal clitic objects and their cross-dialectal
typology.  The past few years we organized and participated
in  the following fieldwork trips:

Ofitika/Ofitic Pontic

o May 24-27 2009 (c); May 4-6, 2006 (b); May 2-5, 2003 (a): Two fieldwork trips with a group of students in Nea Trapezounta of Pieria for collection of Ofitika Pontic data.
